1. Gear up
Always wear a helmet
Every rider, every session, every jump.
Add protection
Knee pads and gloves are highly recommended. Elbow pads add extra protection while you learn.
Right ride, right ramp
Use each ramp only with the bikes and riders listed on its product page.
2. Set up on solid ground
Do
- Set the ramp on firm, level ground with a clear run-in and landing.
- Make sure every leg and foot of the ramp sits flat on the ground. On uneven ground, adjust the legs until it’s solid.
- Check that all hardware is tight and nothing is cracked, bent or loose before each session.
- Follow the setup video for your ramp.
Don’t
- Ride a ramp that rocks, wobbles or has a leg off the ground. It’s unstable, you may crash, and it can damage the ramp.
- Set up where people, pets, cars or obstacles could end up in your path or landing.
- Ride a damaged ramp. Contact us for replacement parts first.
3. The approach
- Start slowBeginners should roll in at about running speed, roughly 7–12 mph. Add speed only once you feel in control.
- Ride in straightLine up with the center of the ramp and keep your handlebars straight on the ramp and in the air.
- Don’t brake on the rampSet your speed before you get there. Braking on the ramp can pitch you forward.
- Jump when you’re readyRoll over it a few times first. Jump once you feel confident.
4. Body position
- Stop pedaling earlyStop pedaling a few bike lengths before the ramp and stand with your cranks level.
- Get centeredKeep your hips over the back half of the bike and your torso leaning slightly forward.
- Stay looseBend your elbows and knees so your arms and legs can absorb the takeoff and landing.
- Eyes upKeep your head up and look ahead to your landing, not down at your front wheel.
- Drop your seatLower your seat as far as it goes so it’s out of your way.
5. Care & storage
- Ninja ramps are built for outdoor riding, but they last longest when stored in a dry place.
- Wipe off mud and grit after riding and check your hardware regularly.
- Need a part? We offer lifetime support and replacement parts. Email support@ridelikeaninja.com.
6. Progress safely
- Go through every step above before each session.
- Ride with more experienced riders when you can, and never ride alone.
- Want coaching? A Ninja Jumping Mini-Clinic teaches safe, repeatable jumping technique.
- Landed your first jump? Tag @ninja_mtb_performance so we can celebrate with you.
Jumping carries a risk of injury. Know your limits, ride within your skill level and always wear a helmet. Kids should always ride with adult supervision.
