Becky, the Coordinator of Shred here at Ninja, is the logistical genius arranging all of the behind-the-scenes details that go into a successful Ninja clinic. Keeping customers supported, coaches at the top of their game and communities engaged is at the top of Becky’s priority list. The best part? Becky does all of her work from the road as she travels around the country tackling the world (of mountain biking), one trail network at a time.
Becky is no stranger to living a “life of shred”. Her adventures began in Pennsylvania where whitewater rafting/kayaking and snowboarding quickly hooked her on a life of adventure. After graduating college she chased her dream west to Colorado and Wyoming, where she balanced life as an elementary teacher and weekend road trip warrior.
Becky began to dabble in mountain biking as a way to add more excitement into her weekend adventures and proudly bought herself a very old and very used Specialized Rockhopper. Did the seller tell her that a small frame wasn’t the best fit for her 5’10” of enthusiasm? Of course not! But she bought the tallest seat-post a person could find and rode that bike on every trail around! Her love for biking grew as the local riding community welcomed her with open arms. The fine folks at Pedal House in Laramie, WY eventually got her on an upgraded bike that made her look less like a circus act and more like the girl who was ready to enter the local race scene.
Before long, Becky found herself using “sick days” to sneak off to long race weekends. She spent the limited after school daylight hours squeezing in rides and trail maintenance sessions. It didn’t take long for Becky to realize she wanted more bike and more travel in her life. So Becky did what any reasonable person would do. She quit her job, sold her house and all her belongings and hit the road, determined to do whatever it took to make biking and traveling her life.
18 months later and we’d say Becky’s determination paid off. She now travels the country in a van and trailer, living out her dream as part of the Ninja Team! If you see Becky’s rig on the road, give her a “beep beep” and if you know of any good trailer friendly camp spots near some rad trails , shoot her a note [email protected]. Seriously!
